A self-propelled mower powered by an economical four-stroke petrol engine producing low levels of noise and emissions. Available in a choice of two cutting widths, bringing an exceptional cut to smaller lawns while being easy also to handle and manoeuvre. Fitted as standard with a five-bladed Qc (Quick Cartridge) precision cutting cylinder, quickly interchangeable with an optional Qc scarifier unit.
What is a Cylinder Mower?
Cylinder mowers use a horizontal cylinder of blades cutting against a fixed bottom blade for a superior scissor like quality cut. They are the most energy efficient of all the cutting systems which is why cylinder mowers have smaller motors than rotary or hover. They are all fitted with rear rollers to leave a rolled striped effect on your lawn.
Powered by an 87cc Loncin four-stroke air-cooled petrol engine with a traditional recoil start system, the Allett Classic 14L/17L offers excellent performance with minimal noise and emissions, while the self-propelled drive system makes the mower easy-to-use. The engine also powers the mower’s five-blade “Quick Cartridge” cutting cylinder, producing sixty-six cuts per metre. The cutting height of the 14L/17L can be adjusted using an easily accessible “dial-a-height” hand-dial located on the side of the cutting unit, with five position settings ranging from 6mm to 32mm. All mowers in Allett’s Classic range can also be easily fitted with a scarifier cartridge (available separately) in place of the original five-blade unit, which can be used to remove thatch and matted vegetable matter from your lawn during the spring and autumn months.
The Allett Classic 14L features a cutting width of 35.6cm, and the polyethylene front roller and single section steel rear roller ensure an outstanding striped finish while protecting your lawn, and offer extra stability when navigating around borders and ornaments. Moreover, the 14L features a generously sized 32-litre front-mounted polypropylene grass collector, which is durable and provides ease of access for emptying, and the handlebars can be set to three adjustable height positions or folded for convenient storage.
The Allett Classic 17L features a cutting width of 43cm. A key feature of the Allett Classic 17L petrol cylinder lawn mower is it’s 3-way transmission. This enables you to cut the power-drive to the roller with the cutting-cylinder still turning – ideal when mowing around obstacles. Alternatively, you can stop the cylinder with the power-drive still engaged – perfect when traversing non-grassed areas like gravel drives and concrete paths. Moreover, the 17L features a generously sized 58-litre front-mounted polypropylene grass collector, which is durable and provides ease of access for emptying, and the handlebars can be set to three adjustable height positions or folded for convenient storage.
